“Cubby’s Perch”
By
Daniel F. Heuer
One spring, many years ago, we more or less adopted a cub bear that was abandoned by his mother. During that spring, summer and early fall, we enjoyed his many comings and goings, and many shared in this experience as I posted it on Facebook. He used to come in and eat his fill of the corn we had put out for him, and he would love to climb up a tree and watch his feeding area, feeling safe and secure. I had always wanted to capture this event and as fate was kind to me, have finally done so. This is my interpretation of that little cub bear up in his tree perch watching all that happed below him with a great feeling of security. I rendered him in early spring, and this is the results of that effort from my original acrylic. I hope that those of you who elect to have him join your wall and watch you, get as much pleasure from it as I did in creating this timeless scene from a heartfelt memory of really not so long ago.
