All who enjoy fishing sure know this little guy.  He hangs out in pretty big schools, and he sure goes after the bait if presented properly.  The yellow perch has a small difference in color, depending on the depth he is caught from.  The color can range from a slight greenish yellow, to almost sand like yellow, in the shallow water.  He actually is pretty easy to catch if you find him in the right mood.  Sometimes you can spend a whole day and not entice him, but usually he bites.  As far as table fare goes, everyone seems to rank him on their list.  Lots of us have grown up fishing for him and still enjoy it.  I sure enjoy trying to outfox him and hope always to find a good school to challenge on a good day out in the boat, and hope you do also.
