The Great Truth is the final result of a long journey that I had embarked upon in 1988.  I went to the holy land to research and gather reference material for this painting.  I spend 5 days there, and saw all the sights possible in that period of time.  During this period I became immensely aware of the presence of my Creator, and felt that I was on a quest, which actually began the first year I began painting professionally.  The original of this picture is 36” x 48” ,and it was a large project and canvas for me to attempt.  It took nearly 6 months to complete, and the final outcome is in no way the initial design that I had in mind.  On the print is this verse:  "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from every sin." I John 1:7 NIV  Under my signature on the canvas is this inscription: “To God the Glory”  I feel especially close to this rendition, as it is a full 180 degree departure from my wildlife painting.  Yet during the entire process- the trip to Israel, the research, and then the actual work on the original- I felt a sense of awe and humbleness.  I do hope that those of you who elect to own a copy of this, “The Great Truth”, shall enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.  With each picture there is a very long detailed story of how the picture came to be.
